Arthur Berkey Science Fair lets youth scientists shine, seeks proposals

The Arthur Berkey Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Science Fair is an opportunity for middle and high school students to show off their ability to apply scientific principles and emerging technologies to agriculture and natural resources. They are also seeking proposals for which the abstracts are due January 23, 2012.

Michigan 4-H Poultry Evaluation Workshop

 The Michigan 4-H Poultry Evaluation Workshop may be coming to a county near you! This exciting, hands on workshop will provide youth an opportunity to learn about all aspects of poultry evaluation in live birds, meat and eggs.  This workshop will prepare youth to participate in the Poultry Evaluation contest held during the 2012 Poultry Palooza.  For the first time, Michigan will be forming a Michigan Poultry Evaluation Team that will have the opportunity to compete at the National Egg and Poultry Contest!  The top placing youth in the Poultry Evaluation contest will be invited to be on the Michigan Poultry Evaluation Team.  Youth ages 9-19 are encouraged to attend the workshop to build their skill in poultry evaluation.
