Each program year, Michigan 4-H, with support from the Michigan 4-H Foundation, donors and other supporters, offers volunteer trainings at sites across Michigan. Each workshop covers an assortment of 4-H program areas, and the goal of these trainings is to provide participants with the necessary skills to become experts in their subjects.

Michigan 4-H dairy judging team takes top honors at World Dairy Expo

The Michigan 4-H dairy judging team won top honors at the National 4-H Dairy Cattle Judging Contest at the World Dairy Expo Sept. 29 in Madison, Wisconsin. The team finished as the No. 1 team overall, ahead of 26 teams from across the country, as well as the top team in reasons. Several members also ranked in the top 10 individually.

4-H Paper Clover promotion begins Oct. 8 at local Tractor Supply stores

The fall 4-H Paper Clover Campaign is now at local Tractor Supply Company (TSC) stores. This national partnership between TSC and 4-H has been held in the spring and fall of each year since 2010 at each of Tractor Supply Company’s 1,200 stores — including the 76 stores in Michigan.

Michigan 4-H alumnus and former state leader to be inducted into National 4-H Hall of Fame

The National 4-H Hall of Fame will recognize Michael J. Tate for his excellence in citizenship, leadership, character and career accomplishments as a result of his involvement in Michigan 4-H and 4-H across the country. Tate and 14 other individuals will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during an Oct. 10 ceremony at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center in Chevy Chase, Md.
